We are a GP training practice and records may be accessed by other Doctors for teaching purposes. We often have the following attached to the practice :-

General Practitioner Registar

A Doctor who spends 6 to 12 months with the practice and is a fully qualified Doctor with extensive hospital experience, gaining a further experience in family medicine.Sometimes you may be asked if your consultation with the doctor may be recorded on videotape. This is done to further the doctor's personal training and education. You will always be asked beforehand and you may feel free to say if you prefer for your consultation not to be videoed. You will be asked to sign a consent form and you are entitled to withdraw your consent after the consultation if you have changed your mind.

Foundation Year 2 (FY2) Doctors

These fully qualified Doctors have worked for at least one year in hospital and spend four months in our practice to gain further experience and understanding of family medicine. They are always supervised by an established GP

Medical Students

We are involved in teaching 4th year and final year medical students from Liverpool and Lancaster University medical schools. They work alongside the Doctor to extend their learning and to fulfil their training requirements. Sometimes you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. We will tell you if your appointment is with a medical student or FY2 doctor, or if they will be present during your consultation with your doctor/nurse. If you prefer to see your GP/nurse privately, please let us know. It will not cause offence.
